The teachers at these schools are all working professionals. Your best bet is an online school like AnimationMentor, AnimSchool, Animsquad, iAnimate, etc. The problem is that the industry is evolving as fast as new people arrive to it. Most of the teachers are old school that no longer work in the industry. Most brick and mortar schools will fail you if you intend to get a job in the film industry. If you aren't the type of person that is ok with nudging imperceptibly small shapes around and watching a shot over 9000 times, don't do it. Animation on its own is incredibly difficult and takes a certain kind of maniacal dedication to detail.

Learning animation is different than learning how to work in a 3d software package. Learning Maya is difficult on its own and takes a few months of solid effort to even begin to feel comfortable creating something in it. Learning 3D animation from scratch is unbelievably difficult.
